I needed something a little wider then my current widest lens.. which is a Sigma 50/1.4.

Just pulled the trigger on a 24-70L on Amazon this morning with 1 day shipping for $1250 this morning.. now trolling the internet like i always do on my free time..

I stumbled across the 35L picture thread and it just hit me.. That i could have bought the 35L for roughly the same price.. give or take $100 more.

The 35L would definitely make some stunning/unique portraits.. What should i do? Return the 24-70L for a 35L?

Ex.

the 35mm L is also a beloved prime lens for full body portraits. the 24-70mm 2.8 L propably is one of the best standard zooms you can get. I´d prefer the zoom due to it´s versatility. the 35L definately is fuckin awesome if you´re working alot with that focal length and want a really sharp prime.

Don't you have a 20ish prime already? Keep the 24-70L in my opinion.

I've used the 35mm L and it's incredibly sharp. I, however, own a sharp 24-70L, and would never get rid of it. It's my main wedding lens :D

An IS version, perhaps. But I'd have to compare side to side. I wonder when we'll be producing 1.2 zoomies.

Argh.. So hard to decide, i'm looking thru my lightroom catalog and i do shoot alot at 35mm FF equivalent when i had my cropper. But then, non of my current lenses are weather sealed and having the 24-70 for that is definitely a plus.

:( A 35L @ f/2.8 will blow the socks off a 24-70@2.8

Nope, my current widest lens is a 50mm

Versatility isn't ranked too high on my list. But the weather sealing would be nice to have... Maybe if i keep the 24-70L, sell my 50mm and 100L to buy a 35L and a Sigma 85/1.4....

Honestly, I wish I could help you out and give some tips, but I have no knowledge. Whatever you decide I hope it works out.

That'll be the day, maybe, that I upgrade mine... cause then the ones that are good now will possibly go down just a bit in price. Lol! In my dreams.
