My lens should be in anytime soon. I bought a filter for it, for protection yo!

Just thought I would share with you all!

70-200mm F4.0 L USM IS Can't believe something can be so expensive!

Pointless thread deserves pointless replies, I know... I am bored and haven't posted here in a while.

You'll find that this lens is going to become a favorite. Enjoy one of the best lenses in the world; one that has Nikon users drooling. Hopefully you won't get addicted to it and buy the 2.8 L IS II.

Ohh, Nikon users can't get anything like this one? I thought both brands were quite equivalent. I don't want to start a Nikon/Canon war, just curious. I hope I don't get addicted, in a way I do hope, but I definitely cannot get another lens for a loooooooong time. I want to purchase another camera if anything else, actually. Or a macro lens... I'll decide that once I save money again. A new truck is going to take up the juices.

Thankies!

When I go to a zoo, I will definitely try this out! Another thing I want to try is a moon photo, it should be good for that too hey?

Yes, abit short and the cropping power of your Xsi isn't the best but it's doable. Make sure to turn IS off, mirror lockup and remote shutter when you snap that pic.

This was taken on a 1.6 crop camera with a 100-400 @ 400mm + a 1.4x TC and cropped a whole lot from a 50D

I'm using something far worse than the XSI it's the 400D lol.

What is mirror lockup?

Waiting for pic to load, seems to take a while.

Edit: oo! Looks great to me!

Mirror Lock up is a setting available on the camera where it flips the mirror up before the shot so it prevents mirror vibration ruining your shot.

Shotting something like the moon will need all the stabilization it can get.

This is pretty good. 400+ 240 (sensor) + ~90 + Crop = buy a telescope and attach to camera.
