F5 is a sexy body. Just go have fun with it imo.

Get rid of the junky lens, get a good prime instead.

Shoot it like any other camera, but remember that grain is much more noticeable than noise (except grain can look good).

I'm shooting Superia 1600 and Portra 800 at the moment with my F100, which is very similar to the F5.

What kind of film are you looking to shoot? Black and white? Colour? High speed or slow?

Can't edit my previous post, but if it is the 55-200mm lens, you'll get some very heavy vignetting towards the 55mm end, as it's a lens for crop sensors.

to me i am looking to do a lil bit of everything. but i know i have to start from somewhere. I also decided to get film is because i wanted real white and black.
but i won't be doing black and white just yet though.

i actually had some pictures that turned out with vignetting shockingly it made the picture a lot nicer because i also used flash. that solves my problem for doing any burning if i ever thought of it.

Why not do black and white? For your own sake, start out with a colour process (C41) type B&W film, that way you can get it developed easily and more cheaply. Something like Kodak's BW400CN would be perfect.

I'm really confused as to why a camera shop would sell a film camera with a DX lens.
