Camera: Canon Rebel XSI

I'm having problems uploading my pictures to my mac. I use a cord connecting my camera to the computer instead of a memory card adaptor. I usually get a good chunk of unreadable images or images with color stripes messing up the photos. I've tried different USB slots and even another mac. I used to think this was do to the rapid fire of taking photos and the size of the photos being taken. I don't get these messed up photos when I use other cameras.

Two days ago I tried uploading to my pc and all the photos uploaded and none of them had color stripes running through them. I transfered them using a flash drive to my mac and they were still fine. Just yesterday I tried the same method, but there were multiple color stripe images again. (not that many are messed up.. maybe 5% of the photos were messed up)

What is affecting my unreadable pictures and color stripes? Is it iphoto, the speed at which I take my photos or a setting on my camera? I don't want to have to upload to my pc and then transfer to my mac every time. ><

Note: The last two days were just food photography. I was using a tripod and bright lighting.. No action shots.

It's file corruption, maybe its time to get a new SD card. Also use a card reader to transfer files, it's alot faster then doing it with camera.
