O M G.

That could take some really cool pics in areas normally not accessible without pro bodies or dedicated housing.

whats dedicated housing?

anyways i bought it because i can carry it in my pocket all the time, so i dont have to carry my dslr all the time with me and even if i have my dslr with me i cba to get it out of my backpack that often. also one big reason was that i wanted a wide angle lens, i was thinking of sigma 20mm(26mm equivalent on my camera), and this has 25mm equivalent lens. also this auto panorama thing in it is pretty sweet, i just sweep the camera and it takes photos and combines them to panorama automatically. water proofs was quite big factor also because i might want to shoot in rain or when its snowing.

i only took one test shot on my way home, this was taken with 1600iso, straight out of camera

then i found that it has some weird low light mode where it takes several shots and merges them into one with lower noise, had to test it in my balcony. this got bit shaky, but its shot at 2500 iso. i think thats pretty good for a point and shoot camera.

since the camera doesent shoot raw, i got myself a alien skin exposure 3 plugin for photoshop, it mimics different films pretty well, so i dont think loss of raw will be that big of a deal

Something like that^. Enables you to shoot underwater.

20mm = 26mm? You have a 1D series body? That's already weather resistant if you wanna take pics in the rain or snow. Heck i take my 50D out in the pouring rain :P

The ISO performance seems pretty darn good being a SOOC shot. What sensor does it have? Typical p&s sensor?

The pano things are sweet! I have a pano app for my iphone and it = so much win! No need for tripod :P (well, if i didn't care about iq anyway)

ah. yea i got 1d, but sigma 20mm isnt weather sealed, so it would leak through the lens mount inside the camera.

it has that sonys new exmor r sensor, its supposed to be some ultimate high iso performer because of some new back illuminating technology, but i guess it only takes a leap from regular sony iso performance to other manufacturers standards, but adds pretty high noise reduction to make it better than some other brands.

Oh i see, hah i forgot about the lens part.

I haven't really been reading anything about sony (i'm stuck in my own little canon/nikon world lol). Most NR in cam makes the image harder to work with in post, wouldn't it be better to turn off NR and do it yourself?
