Please don't be too harsh, I'm getting better as the year goes along.. only have 2-4 hours a week to photo with my school's cameras(D3000 SLR - Nikon)

So here they are, let me know which are best :D ( Water, and texture really :P )

1.

2.

3.

Another thing you should note is: Only have like an hour a class to take photos, so all the photos come from really close by my school, not fancy places :)

I don't really like number 3, but I like the second one :).

The first one looks pretty good, but seems a bit dull :(.

#1 lacks light and a main subject. If the water is the subject, try to borrow a tripid and use a longer shutter speed. Also try to include more of the environment around the water maybe?

#2 is the best out of the 3, although the focus is not the sharpest on the red things, it looks more focus on the leaf n the left.

#3 has the big orange blob as a distraction. Not sure what it is, but if it is decent, then make this your focal point.

Yea, wasn't going for "GG" photos, just photos that fit the criteria of the project(Texture), so hence why the photographs aren't spectacular :P

Will remember these things for later :)

Any more ?

The second one is my favorite, but it's a bit overexposed. Do you shoot in RAW?

#1 could have worked if you put it on a tripod and shot it for a matter of a couple seconds or more to make that kinda silky water effect. Otherwise it's a little boring.

#2 Probably the best of the 3 but als o something I don't like personally is just using a thin depth of field for no reason (which often happens here).
Your subject which I presume is the in focus part, is also very boring, lacks any pull or interest and what interest could be there is divided between three different and separate objects.
Using thin DOF for the sake of DOF is ... yep done a lot on this forum in particular, but its especially overdone when you have no subject.

Check out the Bokeh group on flickr and there you will see a mix of completely useless and boring photos of people who were just so proud that they had a lens that could produce bokeh. On the other hand, some of the photos are exceptionally good and bokeh was used at an appropriate time that enhanced the photo, it [bokeh] wasn't the photo.

#3 Has no subject, no focus and the OOF decaying leaves in the foreground screams distraction so loud that it's a photo I would have deleted the second I saw it on my camera's LCD.
