Haha, i was waiting till the contest ended to post these pictures, i don't want you guys to know which one my contest entry is so i hold off till posting these.

I went with a group of local photog's and met some great people there. Also got to play with a 1DIV, lots of 7d and 500L there that day too.

Most of these were taken with my 100-400L. Getting the propeller blurs were one of the hardest things to do, with the helicopter shot, i was handholding 1/60 sec at 400mm :O

Wow! Great shots!
The first and third shots are really interesting. I have never seen the Blue Angels before even though they were actually in Sweden in the mid or late 90s :(
You seem to live in a very interesting place Eek :p I am so jealous :p Where in the States do you live again? (nvm should have read the title) :D
I am very surprised to see that there are old torpedo bombers of the Imperial Japanese Navy around lol
Is that a Nakajima B5N "Kate"?

Sigh I wish I did!! I have been asking my mother why on earth she chose the very xenophobic Sweden to move to in the 80s and why not the USA
I was in the US almost 10yrs ago right before 9/11 and I loved it there. It's just too bad to get a Green card though :(
haha yeah I was blind and didn't read the title :D

haha well I have loved airplanes since I was a kid and know little bit about them. So did you get to fly in a F18? I mean the blue plane in the first shot and the plane with afterburner on (orange glow) in the third one :D

With security as it is right now in the states, it's already hard enough to get close to a running plane. Riding on it = no no unless you're bill gates.

Talking about security, i got harassed by cops that day :( They said i look like one of the suspects they're looking for and wanted to see my ID lol.

hmm is that a military base you went to? and was it an airshow?
It's just stupid why they let ppl in and then harass them just like the airports I mean if they suspect everyone to be terrorist or illegal immigrant why don't they just close the whole thing and let everyone travel the old fashioned way by boat or land
instead of questioning and harassing non-Caucasians. Seriously sometimes I wonder if those so called democratic countries are really that much better than countries like Iran and Cuba. Btw what kind of suspects were the cops looking for? I mean
do you actually look like you are from the middle east? Well I can actually go on and on about this but to keep it short I believe what they should do is something kind of drastic like stop being so dependent on oil there are many ways to replace
gasoline and other oil products. If you don't believe me just ask the US air force lol. They are actually planning on using synthetic oil in the future. http://www.defensenews.com/story.php?i=3969089
Everyone was complaining about the high gas prices a couple of years ago and some still are but still they are driving around in those huge gas guzzlers which also indirectly aid the terrorists. It's a very funny and strange world we are living in.

dont make statements like this without studying all the facts
99.9% terrorist funds do not come from the petrochemical industry, and how they got into power is another story

Yes, these shots are great! I enjoyed looking at them.

It's so weird, it looks EXACTLY like the snowbirds here in Canada... even the stunts they do. Pretty crazy, and I like how you captured it all at the right time... looked like they all crashed together.

Good shots, but clean the sensor!

I like the one you posted for the contest. That was the one I prefer, I voted for number 1 because is the one that more gives me the idea of "movement", but I like yours too.
