Only requirement is that it can take decent videos @ 720p.
Budget is firm.
I like to take pictures, but I need my own camera for it.
Any and all recommendations are welcome.

I've thought about that, but pictures are a little more important.

I just picked up the Canon Rebel T1i for $700 which I believe is the cheapest SLR camera that does HD video. So, goodluck. Unless you're looking for a point and shoot.

That looks good. My only concern is storage. Although I could just get an SD card. :P Thank you, though.
Still looking for other options.

your gonna have to get an SD card no matter what, there generally isnt much in the way of onboard storage in cameras, especially with the higher resolutions and the HD videos

this will bring you closer to your $225 max, but 8gb is pretty decent, unless you plan on taking a good amount of videos, in which case spending the extra to get a 16 or 32gb may be a good idea, the camera is capable of using SDHC and SDXC, which means 32gb cards and beyond (although 64gb SDXC cards are about the same price as the camera itself lol)
