These where shot using the auto mode on a Rebel Eos XS (1000D) with the kit lens it came with (EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS Lens)

The cat is my roommates
The lens in the pictures was off a camera my mom had in the 80's, a 35mm Ricoh KR10

Uploaded this full size, seems a bit too massive, so heres the link

Some books ive got waiting for me to read:

The cat was shot freehand, the lens & books using a tripod, my high-quality white background there is a t-shirt inside out laid over a cheap keyboard bench, LOL

Need to start getting off auto mode man! Take control of the camera, also read these few tutorials here. Should help you understand how to operate your camera. ;)

i only had the thing for 2 weeks, 1 of which i worked nonstop, i didnt take the time to learn much in the way of the advanced settings, though i did play around with it a bit and read some of the basics in the manual

i will get around to it, hopefully i will be able to move back to WA sometime this year, and my mom is more than willing to share the camera (considering im helping her buy it and all)
