I haven't posted any new pictures recently.. Finally got a whole day off work! That's a first in i think 5 weeks?

I ignore all friend's phone calls and went off into the mountains today to take some photos. :) Gotta give my almost rusted camera a workout (I had a workout too... hiking again with backpack full of gear for 10+ miles and 1200~ steps) :O

The first is beautiful, I love the vivid red tones, theyre so complimentary to the water.

On the second, please, please crop it into a square. I hate that log going across the photo and I think this would look great in square format (well Im biased, but still)

With the third, the water is a little too 'all over' overexposed for me. The colors are a little bleh too, but I think this one could work well in black and white. Great job :)

Thanks!

I thought on the second pic.. the fallen log adds to the atmosphere and gives the viewer a sense of how the environment is.. but i just for you. :P

And the third pic, i adjusted the brightness a little on this edit. The water looks "all over" because it was a 25 second exposure.

Maybe Im just wierd xD Haha, not a square though!

It looks better imo, not so glaring. I know its hard to take those sort of shots and not have them be overexposed, its pretty much impossible. I was recently waist deep with my tripod and camera in rapids trying to get a shot like that

I really like how mossy the water looks in the second one though, its different. Sorry, I just had to make it [ ].

LOL. My square was only off by 40 pixels.. 1000x960

The water just looks white but it's not overexposed, the histogram is perfect and nothing is clipping (except for a little shadow). I was lucky.. only my shoes and my tripod got wet, i wouldn't dare to go waist deep in rapids for any shot lol.. Not being a strong swimmer sucks

I love all the debris in the 2nd shot too.. it caught my eye so i took a shot :P

What can I say, Im obsessed xD

Ah o.o I guess Im not used to seeing so much white. Haha I cant swim either, but it wasnt crazy rapids, plus I had rocks to lean on. I dont know if youve ever been to a blue hole, but thats where I was. Its just a creek that runs from the mountains, with deep spots to swim in.

Yeah it definitely makes that shot stand out.

Interesting! I do this quite a lot.

The first is my favourite, because the scenery is the prettiest. But maybe in all of the pictures you could have put something in the foreground or have something in them that really stands out like a bright colour. The third is really nice but it's a shame you didn't aim the camera a little lower, because it's cropped a little too tight around the white part of the water.

Cool pictures :)
