I keep seeing the letters MD and MC on lenses... Like for instance: "Minolta MD/MC lens to Minolta SONY AF mount adapter"

What does this mean?

Another question... If I take a couple photos in Manual Focus and merge them together to make a photo with more in focus than should be, is that considered "bad form"?

For the second part I think youre referring to focus stacking, and I dont think its "bad form", but who knows what other people think. Just like some people think HDR is cheesy, Im sure some people think focus stacking is cheesy too.

So they're just lenses for older cameras or SLR's that send information about the aperture to the camera?
