Looking to buy an introductory camera.
My current experience with photography is limited to b&w film only using a Vivitar v3800n but I'm looking to get more into digital photography.
Any have suggestions on where I should start looking?
What questions I should be asking in terms of camera requirements, etc?

First you have to find out if you are really ready to plunge into a serious hobby or occupation. If so I would suggest buying either a Nikon or Canon entry level DSLR, if you aren't sure yet, I would try for an 8-12MP compact camera with full manual capabilities.

Nikon D90 is your best bet for price. Higher end nikon cameras < Canon. Gosh the D700 sucks.
