This is the actual clone of the famous Starbuck, sire of the milky way!!!
He is 10 years old now and in really good shape!
Many countries have prohibited mating cows with a clone for ethical reasons.
Most of his semen is frozen and some is shipped to Mexico or other countries where it is still legal to have Starbuck's clone descendants.

This was taken with low artificial light, at an agricultural fair in St-Hyacinthe.
Starbuck II is stationed in the Artificial Insemination Center in the same city.
Needless to say he is very pampered :)
This animal is priceless.

I was not able to get any closer and he was eating, so moving all the time..
This is my best shot (imagine how bad the others were  )

Camera Canon EOS Digital Rebel XSi
Exposure 0.004 sec (1/250)
Aperture f/1.8
Focal Length 50 mm
ISO Speed 1600

Nice pic, but there is no reason to be shooting at 1/250 for that. You could probably go all the way down to 1/60 + f. This will give you a better DOF.

Well, I agree with the f/1.8 though,
The focus is right where it should be and I really dont think the bars would make the picture any better if they were in focus ^_^

Sorry hadn't seen your post before....
I had my camera set at priority 1.8.
Sometimes I would get 1/60 or 1/125.
Look my iso settings.... the light was very low and flash were prohibited.
Plus, this is a moving animal, can't shoot at 1/60 without blur...

Ya if the bars were in focus, then the main subject here (the ring) would have been distracted by the bars..

It was extremely hard to find something decent to shoot with the bars, the people around and the bull moving all the time... :(
I was right by the gate and only using my 50 mm lens.
No way I could move back to see the animal more, cause people would get in front.

I tried to take pictures of his eye, but they were blurred cause of movement...

He is such a beauty, I would love to go take pictures where he lives, but it is impossible to approach his majesty :p
