Yeah I really need a macro lens...
Seen on 100% there are tons of chromatic abberation, and detail isn't great.
Anyway my standard kit lens did its job.

I've just gathered some info, it's a Hierophis Viridiflavus, also known as Green Whip Snake. Not poisonous, very agile, might bite but it's not dangerous at all.

Personally I like the first photo because it doesn't look as though you chopped off his tail. =) beautiful snake by the way

another thing to mention is that the color in the second photo makes thesnake look dull imo and the composition is a little better in the first

good job overall =)

e: I can't see the quality just yet because I'm on an iPhone so I'll look at it later when I get home

Wow very nice!!!
I love snakes and I'm sure it was not easy to take a picture of a moving snake!
Unless you can talk to it and it poses for you :o

Haha was this a Gardner snake?

I like his eye. Too bad you couldn't get closer!

I don't know how much closer you wanted to be but I think the first pic looks great at the distance it is taken, any closer maybe you wouldn't see as much of the snakes body and it would change the picture.
