I'm going to community college in Virginia for atleast the first semester so I can stay close to home and help out my mom, etc.
Now my question is, has anyone taken a photography course at a community college?
Not sure if it's worth taking, or should I just wait until I transfer to an actual college and take them there?

Mine was very helpful actually. I learned quite a bit, but I hated shooting what they wanted me to shoot.

Yeah when I took photography class in highschool, I hated the stuff we had to shoot.
Did you go into the college photography class knowing alot about photography/how to change everything on your camera etc?
Or is it pretty beginner friendly?

I knew how to operate my camera. In the class it went over all that stuff, but it also had stuff I didn't know much anything about. If you took photography in high school you wouldn't take an intro college course for it imo. Honestly that is what I took, but like I said, I did learn a significant amount.

Well our highschool photography class was pretty much a joke.
Like the Photoshop portion of it we used cheap ass digital cameras and learned like nothing in Photoshop.
We basically learned how to change the color of an object, lol.
Then we made one of those shoebox cameras where you put a needle hole in it then have a blank piece of Photography paper in it or whatever and point it at something for a few minutes and it turns to a black and white photo.
We did use some film cameras and did darkroom film shit, that was about the only good thing we did in that class lol.
