Well.. Now the first contest is over and i'm happy with the results. Going on to our second contest for this sub-forum!

This new contest that I'll be will be hosting is open from Aug 16th to September 20th for submissions. That's a total for 5 weeks for shooting, I extended this a little since a lot of people seems to have "time" issues submitting the photos. Now you guys don't have any excuses mwahahha

Here is how it's going to work, submission will be sent to me via private message and i will make a new thread with pictures posted anonymously for voting by regular members of the photography forum. (More then 15 post in this sub-forum for the last month). Public poll will not be instated since i've seen people who get friends to rack up votes. Not that any of you will do that, but just for a more fairer competition.

Contest Theme: Reflections.
Prize- 300fg donated by me. (Gotta step my game up! Lol)

Rules-

• Picture must be taken by YOU.
• Picture must be taken within the contest time frame.
• Only ONE submission per contest.
• EXIF data must be intact with date/time the shot was taken along with other technical details (Focal length, Aperature, shutter speed etc).
• Please resize image to long edge of 1024 pixels.

*Please keep post-processing to a minimal, it's a contest for photography, not image editing.

Also, Zex has agreed to mediate this second contest for us as well! I want to thank him personally in advance.

I will add 2k to the prize which should bring out more competition and make things more interesting. Anyone wishing to donate towards the prize can send it to me with the comment "Photo contest 2"

2 questions:

What do you mean by reflection? Is it like in the water?
Just want to be sure...

Also: Please resize image to long edge of 1024 pixels.
On Flickr, what size would that be?
Now they have small, medium-small, medium-large and large

Well it depends on the size you uploaded. But in GIMP you can change the size, and then use the "Large option" in flickr.

And a reflection can be in anything.. as long it's.. a reflection

Ouch I have no clue how to change the size!!!!
I always upload in full quality then use the different sizes on Flickr...



ok but in French, I find 2 meanings for reflection...
Something that reflects the light or image on a surface, and the other meaning is 'a thought' or 'an idea', hard to explain....
I am just unsure if that meaning would still be 'reflection' in English....
Can someone just specify the different meaning of reflections in English?

I hope it is okay to post this link. It describe how to change the size of an image.

Reflection could be anything, like your reflection in the mirror, a reflection off of the water, a reflection off of an object that reflects, umm, I don't see why it couldn't be a reflection of light or something like that! I think we mean more the visual reflection rather than the idea, but you know what both can work I don't see why not. I would find the thought/idea pretty hard to make!
