Sure beats what I do, carry around a piece of something white. :D

But what about using something like this instead? Or would a bounce be more effective?

You should not be taking portraits in darkness or in conditions where you would need this bouncer. What camera do you have?
In weddings, some people may be bothered by the bounce since it may hit them too directly. Imo flashless weddings > but sometimes you need to use it. A diffuser bounced on the roof should be all you need though.

Edit: The last two products seem interesting, but I'd prefer studio lights or at least a double flash source.
