Canon EF 14mm f/2.8L II is expensive
Still in the ask around / rent / borrow process to make a decision.

What camera do you want to mount it on ?

5d mk II, because it's the best I have and I need a rather extensive enlargement (1.6 frame = ew)

Get an adapter. Nikon 14-24mm f/2.8G ED. Best ultra wide angle zoom on the market hands down.

While the 14-24 is the best UWA zoom on the market.. i doubt it could beat the 14mm prime.



Well, the Tokina is pretty much equal to the EF-s 10-22. The 10-22 has slighly better corner sharpness, better flare control and less distortion. The tokina is better on the build, af and obviously the f2.8.

The 16-35 is better then the 10-22 so guess that answers the question? 14mm prime is obviously better then the 16-35. But you should rent it first to see if you like it.

The prime isn't nearly as versatile though...

Umm.. what is the image of exactly? A wider lens won't give you a bigger enlargement. Bigger field of view though.

Try stitching with a longer lens like a 35mm if your subject is static. This will also give you a better image compression and look more natural.

What do you use to stitch photos? The software that came with the canon DSLRs blow at stitching. And my photoshop cs5 trial expired.

Autopano Giga 2. It's brilliant software. I highly recommend

It also comes with Autopano Tour which is software used for 360 tour panoramas like you see on websites.

Holy crap. $315.. I guess i'll need to save that for my copy of photoshop first before i buy any of these.

Just brought my copy of LR3 couple weeks ago.. $350 saved so far for photoshop.
