I'm looking into getting at least two wireless flash triggers and I found a set for a pretty cheap price and it comes with 4 receivers.

Has anyone heard or seen anything bad about these guys? It's pretty much just an off brand product.

http://www.amazon.com/Wireless-Trigger-CT-04-Receivers-SpeedLite/dp/B003GVQ1J4/ref=sr_1_45?s=STORE&ie=UTF8&qid=1280492543&sr=1-45

I'm not really going to be using them for anything more than just portraits and other things where my camera will be pretty close to the receivers, so range isn't that big of a deal.

Also, are mini soft boxes even sensible to get? I know when I used one before it just completely was useless and barely diffused the flash at all.

I have something similar to those. They are cheap, eat a lot of batteries, and the range is about 25 meters (In complete darkness).
The fastest shutter speed is about 1/160, depending on the range.

Check out YongNuo RF-602 on eeeebay. I have those and they're pretty darn good for the price, they're obviously not as reliable as Pocket wizards. But the misfiring rate is still very low, i think i've only had like 1 or 2 misfires the hundreds of "play" exposures i've taken with it. The build quality is excellent, just as good as the pocket wizards i played with at the store.

Best thing about them is that they can also double up as wireless shutter releases. Win Win for me :P The only downside with these vs the Pocket Wizards is that the RF-602s don't support ETTL. But most don't anyway. I prefer to shoot in manual with OCF photography.

Here is a huge discussion of these wireless triggers on PoTN forums.

If your budget is higher, there is always the radio poppers or the cybersyncs.

Skyports if money if no issue.. haha

Hmm, I think I might get these ones. I dunno though. Money is kind of a big issue right now, I would prefer not even to go over $50.
