So i thought i might do something to spice up this forum just abit more.

I'll be hosting a photography contest. It's open from July 15th to August 5th for submissions. That's a total for 3 weeks for shooting, hopefully that's enough time for contestants to see the thread and make photographs.
Here is how it's going to work,
submission will be sent to me via private message and i will make a new thread with pictures posted anonymously for voting by
regular members of the photography forum. (More then 15 post in this sub-forum for the last month). Public poll will not be instated since i've seen people who get friends to rack up votes. Not that any of you will do that, but just for a more fairer competition.

Please keep post-processing to a minimal, it's a contest for photography, not image editing.Q&A-
So what exactly does 50mm mean?- It means that you have to use a focal length of 50mm to shoot the image. So for example, you're using a full frame sensor, use a 50mm lens for a 50mm field of view (fov). If you're using a 1.6x crop factor camera, you must use a 30-35mm~ lens. So on and so forth, as the as the fov = 50mm. It's fine.
edit: 50mm on cropped bodies are also allowed. So contest = 50mm lens or 50mm FOV.-
Is this a prime only contest or are zoom lenses allowed as well- Anything goes, as long as it's 50mm

I have images that i've taken previously with a 50mm lens, can i use that for this contest?- No, it has to be taken in between July 15 to August 5th of year 2010. The purpose of this thread so that we can go out and shoot, not sit and home and look thru the old library for images that may fit the criteria. The EXIF will need to prove that the image was taken in that time. No EXIF data = automatic disqualification.
- What if i don't have any lenses that have 50mm as a focal length?
- I tried picking a topic that everyone should have no problem doing, i believe 50mm is a important focal length for any camera owner.. if you don't have it.. Sorry, you can't enter. This post was edited by Eek on Jul 14 2010 03:06pm
