Alright, I'd like to start by saying that I know these are not focused correctly for the most part and too soft buuuutttt (and I'm not excusing it by saying this) I was concentrating more on the composition. Or I tried to focus more on composition, that's what I'd like input on please! =)

I plan on getting to the point where I can do both without a problem but baby steps first. One last note: her mother caught me off guard when she asked me to take them. she told me to practice on the baby as much as I want but I had just woken up when she got here and asked me to. Anyway, constructive criticism is greatly appreciated as always and please don't hold back =) if you have a problem with one of them or all of them let me know what you think the problem is and how you think I can make it better. Thank you!

btw I added these two just to show her off: photographically speaking, they suck.

I'm starting to dislike my lens btw =(

It looks like a shutter speed being too long. (Try add exif data)
The first photo is the best.

Shot #1- Only decent shot on here

Shot #2- Out of focus. Subject is backlit, change location or use fill flash. Under-exposed subject and over-exposed background. Use Exposure compensation. The composition is off, glasses is cut off and so is elbows.

Shot #3- Use higher shutter speed. I see motion blur.. but why is there motion blur? The pic doesn't tell me why. Also the picture is soft.

Shot #4- Another backlit subject with harsh lighting. Cut off elbows

Shot #5- Same as above + out of focus. Hands are cut off, also the wrist.

Shot #6- Severely out of focus.

You said you manual focus right? Either get a another focusing screen to aid with focusing or practice more.

well I did warn you about the last two lol but thank you!

good tip on the exposure compensation. I think I get what you're saying

so you think it would've looked better had I gotten a little further to get her elbows a bit more? gotcha ;)

yeah I need more practice on focus. I probably should've used autofocus for this seeing as she's a very active little girl and ca't stay still even when she can't walk yet.

oh and she was actually trying to wave and lost her balance a little and was trying to steady herself
