You need to raise your shutter speed on #2 in order to effectively capture the motion of the water. White balance off on both. You need a more interesting approach to both images. Try to get even lower wit h the picture of the dog - something like that of its eye level- so you can get a dogly perspective of things. Nice idea on #2, however.
