I recently got back into the DSLR world by acquiring a Nikon D40 with a 55-200 (Non-VR) lens. I'm still learning how to use it in manual and understanding how to use aperture/shutter speed/exposure/ISO/etc. all at the same time and how they work with each other. But for now, I use the other modes like portrait, landscape, macro, etc.

Some pictures I've taken recently of random stuff at random locations. Let me know what you think :).

white balance is off on first few. Baby picture is underexposed.

Thanks. Yes, it's a rock. She goes CRAZZZYYY for rocks. She'll chase them for hours upon hours and never give up.

Pretty good job on just these beginner shots here; shows you have potential and I think you will only get better if you keep the efforts up! The dog catching it's rock is awesome!
