I stole this idea from another forum where i frequently visit. Thought we can use a thread just like it over here too.

The purpose of this thread is to comment and/or give advice to a photo.

Lets rate the photos on a scale of 1/10 to 10/10 in .5 increments.

Rules of this thread
  • Photo MUST be taken by you.
  • Please do NOT post without rating the photo above you.
  • Please post a picture after you have rated the photo above you.
  • Please limit the photo size to roughly 1024x768 vice versa.

I'll go ahead and kick start this with a photo i've taken just few days ago on a short emergency trip to NYC.

Good idea xD

Id give yours a 6/10, while theres some elements that are interesting to me, the overall picture is kind of meh. I like the look of that building on the right though ;o

I took this tonight at a carnival, people say that fish dont have feelings. Look this fish in the eye and tell him hes not sad >:o

Haha, sweet picture.. It does look like the fish is sad.. further personified by the upside down U mouth. Interesting colors and composition, but the bag on the right and the condensation somehow distracts me from the main focus of the picture.

Overall 7/10

Looks pretty sharp. There is too much empty, uninteresting space to the right and the colour balance is off the charts :/ If you are going to shoot tight and isolate a subject with a narrow depth of field, crop it tight. The Bokeh is really distracting :/

Null Rating

Something I slapped a few photoshop filters on. The Saturation is real, the sun was really orange that afternoon.

Edit: Photobucket makes everything look shit >.<

I think it looks great :D Although the flowers on the one side tend to want to blend in with the background it seems. Kind of takes away the effect. I've never done this whole rating thing before. 7/10

I suppose I'll go with one of my flower pictures :D

That's really nifty. I love how the light just shines on the chairs. Although the for some reason the darkness on the side kinda makes me go "bleh" I don't know why exactly... 8.5/10

This is a bench. It's a bit cut off but I'm still new to this stuff. Haha.

its not that bad. I am new as well and i would have tryed to put the focus on the middle of the bench instead, and try it with a low F ( 6 and lower )

Here's a shot I took in one of my class. we were trying to do portrait!
