My work schedule is finally freeing up a little bit after 6~ months of 80+ hour weeks. Got a little more time to go out and shoot.

Went to my local botanical garden and shot some pictures with my new Sigma 30mm f/1.4 (this one's focus is spot on, last copy was POS). And my new Tokina 11-16 f/2.8 UWA (ZOMG THIS LENS IS RAZOR SHARP :O)

I did alot of reading yesterday to learn about shooting with ultra-wide angle lens. LMK how i did. I like harsh comments too, don't hold them back for me.

I shot even less pics today, only a total of 66 pics for the five and half hours i was out. Alot of keepers though :P

16-35 MKII?

And don't tell me they're all nice. There has to be something bad about them! And i want to hear it so i can improve!

This is the same scene but with different settings. I prefer the look of the DOF shot over this. But i still like this one too :D

Gah UWA is addicting! I had alot of people looking at me all weird because i was lying almost flat on the ground trying to take these two pics.

I love the DOF shot over this one as well, but the variety of colors in this one is still awesome.

The only thing I dont like is that in a few theres so many different focal points, my eyes were all over the place. But theyre still nice nonetheless.

And I know what you mean about people looking at you wierd, a couple of guys thought I fell today when I was taking pics on the ground -.-

yes that lens. IMO you're following 2/3 too much. These pictures seem to be technical but don't show any sense of creativity (other than the cropping of #3 which is hot). We have the same macro lens, so focus into 1:1s on flowers.

Thanks! I just wanted to change up my shooting styles a little. Looking back in my lightroom catalog. Almost all my picture styles are "DOF" type. So i wanted to try something different today.

The DOF shot version of every scene looks better to me.. Is that a good thing lol? >_<

PS- 2 guys thought you fell isn't that bad. It's worst when a group of 14 year old girls giggle and point at me like i'm some sort of retard. -_-

EDIT :

Ahh, thanks for comment! I'll keep that in mind too :)

I would love to do 1:1 macro shots today.. Only realizing that my tripod was at home when i arrived >_<

I so thought i had my tripod with me.

I tried my best handholding the lens.. even with IS on the 100L. 1:1 macro is a bi**h.

I guess its all a matter of preference :o I tend to like those more as well, I guess those types of shots are just more aesthetically pleasing.

Haha, that would be worse xD

E: I said I guess way too much in there o.o

And I wish I had a macro lens :(

I don't use tripod for 1:1s. just fast shutter. was windy today, despite those flower pics.

I find it almost impossible to do 1:1 macro indoors. Never tried it outdoors yet though :[

And iso more critiques. If no critiques.. comments. ^_^
