Hi all ^^ Ive been photographing with point and shoots for a really long time, and Ive always been dying to get a nicer camera so I could pursue photography seriously. Recently I got a Nikon D5000, as well as an extra 55-200mm nikkor lens. Ive already gotten some good input from Rookie on a few shots, but Id like to know what others have to say. Tips, cnc, equipment I should look into getting, anything is appreciated. These were taken at a park/marina in Maryland, it was my first time shooting outside.

This little guy had the most vivid blue tail, unfortunately his whole body would never focus, just his face.

I liked how it looked like the trees were reaching out for the sun.

I was freaked out at first, then my bf assured me that they werent human

I like the goose (if they're geese?) ones a lot, a lot better than mine when I first started.
I'm uploading then going to bed.

:P

i like the last one for content, the rest are way too simple for my taste

and i've never seen a "good" picture of a bird, especially geese
birds aren't typically photogenic, it seems

I like the one with the trees and also leafs a lot!

It appears exactly as you said as if they were reaching for the sun!
Love the formation of the branches going to the big hole in the middle with the sun :)
