I want to buy a new camera. I want something within these conditions:
- around $250
- not HUGE
- good picture quality
- digital
- nice lcd screen
does anyone know a nice camera that fits this criteria?

A used Canon G9 or G10 maybe?? Might also be able to score a lower end Nikon, Canon, Olympus, Sony from a couple years ago with 1 kit lens. Get on DPReview and other websites and do a little research.

g9 or g10 is probably the best to go with for that money, wait until a used one comes up in your price range! g9/10 are really awesome

what's your experience with cameras?
if you didn't use SLRs yet, you will note a huge difference of handling between compact and SLR. the advantage is the higher range of application (because you can change the lens) and a higher quality. but compacts are cheaper and smaller (so you can wear it in your pocket).
so your first question should be SLR or compact??
