Just started getting into photography after going on a cruise with my girlfriend and taking some shots with her dSLR!

Bought a Canon XSI and this is the result of my first couple days with it...

1) Statue at the end of the road near my apartment.

2) Night sky.. didn't have my tripod=[ outside my apartment while walking my girlfriend to her car.

3) My new car, on the beach down the street from my house... You can't tell its 30degrees can you!

4) My new kitty looking out at the street =]

5.) First sunset picture taken with a dSLR. @ Silver Beach

6.) Silver Beach sunset close up.

I like #3 a bit, but you should straighten that horizon, and that effect you've done to it, dno what it is, but I don't like it :P

Anyway, gz at your dslr and welcome to this subforum :)

=] As far as the effect that picture was my attempt at messing with HDR. It is three exposures -2, 0, +2, then I merged them into photoshop It is fun to play around with, can't wait to catch my first sunset with my new camera!

Ok, I just think it's too much hdr effect :P
The back of the car has something that looks like a glowing aura, and just above the car the ocean is darker then on the rest of the picture. It looks very unnatural imo :P
