I'm about to cry. Haha, well not really. But after over 8 years of waiting and complaining, finally, we are going to be able to get true high speed internet. 3mbs download and over 700kbs upload, compared to my now 60kbs download and 15kbs upload. Finally I'll be able to upload my pictures and everything and work on Time-Burners without having to worry about exceeding my stupid bandwidth limit or it taking hours and hours to upload or download something.

No.. Your idea of a 'normal' connection is what is called high speed here. You're very lucky to have that kind of internet there. 60kbs is actually pretty fast compared to dial-up.

There was no other choice, except dial-up, which has speeds of about 5kbs.

Gratz. That's a healthy speed increase. ;)

I remember when i first had 33k dial-up. Switching to 56k modem made a pretty big difference. Then onwards to 764k ADSL, 3mbp/s cable... all the way to 15mbp/s cable atm. Looking forward to upgrade to fiber optics when it rolls into my area.

You'll have to know with 3mbp/s connection, You're getting a max theoretical download speed of 384kb/s. ;)

heh 1mbs is the slowest you get here afaik and not many want that slow :P . usually people got 3-10mbs, i think 110mb is the fastest that you get as normal home connection, unless you happen to have light fiber connection(or what ever its called) in the building then you can get 1gb, but those are still really rare
