i am new to photography. i currently take totally garbage pics with my camera phone. i would mainly be taking pics of my dog at the dog park while running and such. i just want a camera that wont blurr these movements. and also when we go fishing/hiking id like to be able to take pics. any suggestions?

no suggestions? what do i need to look for to stop this blurr im talking about and focus on my dog and not the ground around him. i also live in the mountains so id be taking pics of that also.

Blur won't usually be reduced simply by using a different camera.

Reading this may help you understand a few things.

But...

The reason your pictures are blurry are because:
A - You're not holding the camera still enough
B - The camera can't take a picture fast enough
C - The camera can take the picture fast enough, it just doesn't have enough light to do so

To get photos that aren't blurry, make sure you have adequate light or can compensate for it by holding the camera still enough.

thats my problem obviously. when my dog is running past me with a tennis ball as my friend throws it. and his legs are blurred out is what im talking about. im just trying to figure out what spec i need to look for to stop this

Get a Canon XSi kit or the Nikon equivalent. Done.

Don't know much about the smaller Nikon stuff... maybe a d3000 or something?
