you´ll most likely want a fast motor ( think they´re called SWM for the nikons ) telephoto lens with low aperture f number. I`m not too familiar with the models that nikons offer. but that are some things you should take care of I guess, because you gotta autofocus real quickly and you want sharp outcomes of moving subjects.
you problem will most likely be that such lenses are pretty expensive. I think the best nikon around is like 6500$. its a 300mm f2.8 lens or something. the next cheaper one goes for like 1700$ I think. so you might just check out the nikon website and look for anything thats below that. just make sure you consider the important things I meantioned above.

and wait for others to post. They might know alot more than I do.

It's not impossible to shoot sports with a slow focusing lens, I've done it, all I have is the 18-55 kit lens and my 90mm tamron macro.
The kit lens is tricky, I have to lock focus and have the lightning conditions as good as possible.
The tamron is quite easier, it focuses to infinity after 3.0 meters, so just keep a distance of greater then 3 meter and all = fine.

Otherwise, your tips are pretty much what Powned should search for.
Large aparture (low f number) and a swm motor.
Many great snowboarding pictures are taken with a wide angle lens though, but that requires you to be very close :)
