I took this pic as a tribute to my old running shoes.
I had some problems with the white balance so I erased yellow/orange/blue completely out of the picture, and after that the shoe looks so clean I just couldn't help but love the result.
It's so detailed and clean that I'm starting to think about getting a print of this one (both as a wall decoration and as a motivational :P )

There is quite the detail in that shot, and that's what makes it good. I'm not sure of the angle you chose though, but it sure is different than the standard angle for a shoe photo. :)

Yeah I'm not so good at standard stuff, I just do my own stuff most of the time, maybe it's time to get some basics, even though I don't think "the standard angle" would improve my shoe photo.

Yeah, sometimes trying out the standard way first is great, but sometimes trying it the way you did it might even be better, you just never know!

A rl friend told me I should lift the highlights and lower the dark, so I did, I think the difference is amazing :)

In my opinion, that ruined it.

im no expert, but imo 2nd looks much better, shoes look grittier and more realistic, its his old running shoes, not his new running shoes^^

Personally I think that brings out the details more. Mainly in the laces and fabrics. I prefer the second much more and for that reason only. We all have our opinions though...
