I laughed abit tbh. was this meant to be a serious attempt of making a good photo`? I mean I dont wanna sound rude or anything, but its blurry, the perspective is all wrong and well yeah..... there are alot of mistakes in this picture.

I know it is crap. that's why I need opinions on how to make it better. it was taken with a 3.2 megapixel cell phone. It's a mock shot before the money will be spent for equipment. there's a plan involved with these pics so it's very very beta stage right now. thank you for the comment. that's exactly what I need. what's wrong with perspective? I didn't take the picture but I'm helping as much as I can here whether they believe me or not :) I would appreciate details please. I didn't come to show off some great pics. I just need to know how to make it better. the person who took this wants to use the pics he gets in a new project but these aren't good enough yet :)

e/ besides, no photoshop was used period

First of all, keep the camera still while taking a picture
second, try to keep the camera at the same level as the objective you wanna shoot, do this until you can start thinking on your own

Ok lemme break it down real quickly ( got 2 big fat sandwiches and a couple of hours of "24" waiting for me ). I like the topic of that picture to be honest. major problems in here are that the environment this picture is taken in first of all doesnt fit the theme that ( your ) styling and everything that belongs to that "army look" is representing. I mean.... why would you sit around in a living room with your gun pointing at the viewer? looks strange. another problem is the fact that the image quality is rather bad. I guess thats due to the poor equipment you had for this "shooting". If you want to take this idea onto a serious level, you might at least want to get a decent compact camera to shoot with. ( It does not take a super expensive DSLR to take good pictures ). About the angle.... I just dont like the perspective...... might just be me. but I also think that the pose and angle dont look pleasant to the eye. Furthermore, you should get rid of everything disturbing in your frame before you pull the trigger. In this case, I can see a pillow and a couch that really anoys me in the first place...

So far so good. conclusion:

- get a different location for your shooting that fits the entire topic
- get at least a decent camera
- get rid of everything that is disturbing the focal in your photo

But then again, what do I know? :D

hope that helped abit. gotta go now I´m hungry.

bye

that helped a lot thanks :) some of those were already on the list of things to do lol. We're going out to the desert to take the reals. now as for the angle, that's a big one. Is there anything specific you don't like about the angle? what angle would you suggest in the future?

please keep in mind it isn't me taking the pic. my best friend is the one with the idea. I'm helping out. He asked me to get some unbiased opinions and this is the first place I thought of asking. Thanks for the tip :)

well as Jaevel already meantioned above, most of the "good" portraits in the world of photography are taken with the photographer being on the same level as the subject. there are only a very few examples of how to do it differently. such portraits usually have a huge difference in levels so that you either have a birds-eye view or the subject being quite high while the photographer is very low. I dont really have the time and the linguistic skills ( in english ) atm to explain it very well to you, so I´ll just pass that one on to the next poster :D
