but i get this message (Sorry, you are not permitted to use that image as a personal photo as the extension isn't on the permitted list.)

what does that mean?

What kind of file was it?

jpg? png? tiff? psd? etc etc

i get that text sometimes when i try to upload from deviant arts, dunno why. never had that when i have uploaded from other places

Depending on the link you used to put a photo on here. I know sometimes I get in the habit of using the [ img ] [ img ] link instead of just the url, it gives me that message.
