These might not be my "best" shots from gran canaria, as I'm quite inexperienced at dealing with batch pictures I haven't been 100% able to organize all ~1300 pics I took in 2 weeks :P
Anyway, I think these deserve at least a few seconds of somebodys attention, I'd be happy if you'd leave a note or so, and please be specific if you decide to critisize my work :) (I'll gladly note your critisicm)

This first one is taken with a tripod just outside the appartment my family lived in for a week :)
Taken with kit lens at 18mm iirc (too lazy to look into exif atm)

This is an odd self portrait I took with my tamron 90/2.8 macro just by the pool. As you can see I use nikon

I'm very attached to this picture, it was taken at a roadtrip around Gran Canaria, it's taken through the window of the car while in motion. Still it's sharp because of
the bright environment :) (Tamron 90 2.8)

This one is taken at the same road trip at a pause area, with macro lens as well :)

A flower shot I took just outside the balcony, also taken with my macro lens :)

Thank you all who took the time to watch my pictures :)

Looks like you had a great time there!!!

#3 is my favorite, the atmosphere is just astonishing.
The light on the ocean looks fantastic and these misty mountain range adds to the overall mood.

#4 evokes a lot of memories from all those cliffs and rocks we used to climb up,
i know there are plenty around haha.

I so envy you!
Reminds me of all my trips to Fuerteventura and the visits to Lanzarote or other islands around.
I have been to Gran Canaria as well once for a few days to visit some friends who live there.

In which city/area have you been?

Canary Islands are a great place to be or spend the holiday,
loved it every time and even after many years there are still new things to discover.

The beaches are so gorgeous and the water is fantastic for surfing and all.
Think it only rained once in all the years when we came around spring.

Hopefully i can come back there again one day

Yeah, Gran Canaria is a lot more beautiful then all the tourism it is built around, sounds like you also experienced that part :)
#4 Describes what Gran Canaria would look like without the tourism, that's what I think at least, #3 has the atmosphere as you say, it kind of shows how small human is in some way.

Thanks a lot for sharing your experience of that island :)

My pleasure of course, thanks for sharing some photos of your experience!
Always great to see others falling in love like i did.

Yes indeed, this is what i love so much about it also.
One can enjoy the nature and its beauty much more in peace like that.
I dont like overcrowded beaches with literally one sunburned ass laying next to the other and all this...

Rather walking on these endless beaches, going swimming in the lonely bays, riding some waves
or have some chat with the local people when traveling through the island.
And these islands got so much to discover!!!

It has changed during the years, there are way more people and tourism these days of course.
But in comparison to other places it is still acceptable, especially when knowing the right places where to go now :)
Most tourists go to the big cities for the parties, entertainment and all that stuff,
but the real beauty is found in the smaller fishing towns where the local people live.
They catch some fish behind the house and one gets a fresh mail straight from the ocean on the table afterwards.

When we traveled there for the first time like 19 or 20 years ago there was hardly any hotel and the airport wasnt that professional yet.
My mother was so scared when we landed because of all the "bumps" in the road, every flight was a little adventure

She had problems with her back and no doctor could help her, i had lung problems...
When it was getting really desperate someone finally advised to go there because of the climate.
The wind coming over from the Sahara has such a curing effect, most people curse it because of the sandstorms though.
We did go there and we both got cured and we came back year for year discovering the island and its people :)

Yeah I think it would be awesome, sadly though, I can't do such as I had surgery on both my shoulders.

Wow, thank you :)
The only thing I did was make a layer with black/white and add a sepia tone, then I made another layer with color and deleted everything except the flower :)
I also changed opacity to make the color less distinct.
If you'd like it as a print I could give you a high quality version of it :)
