Planning to get DSLR
Nikon D90 vs Nikon D300s

any suggestions?
both seems fine.
D90 is cheaper but
D300s is more expensive
but higher standards
and potential then the D90.
D90 can do well, just not
as great qualities of a D300s.

Ask yourself if for what you need you are willing to pay twice as much? D300s is a professional camera

I´d get the D90 because the cost-performance ratio seems to be way better. People say the D40 is still unbeatable, but since you cannot find new ones nowadays, the D90 would propably be your best bet if you´re going for nikon entry level cameras. if money doesnt play a role get the D300s straight away.

thx for ur opinion.
thinking the same thing
i just didn't like the display
on video of the d90.
d90 video focus is so poor
and lacks that a lot.
that's why i had to bring up
the D300s.

well as doyleo already said, it depends on what you want to do. I´m not interested in video at all for example....... so that´s not a point I do care about.

i really dont get why you would want a dslr and worry about video.... >.<

you can get a flip camera or a nano with video.

if this is your first dslr i would start with the d90
the d300s is a semi-professional grade camera and you'll be paying a good chunk of pocket change for it.
if you want to make photography a lifelong hobby i would consider budgeting for more lenses with a lower grade camera than jumping right into a semi-professional grade camera with a kit lens.
after all the camera's image quality is highly affected by the quality of the lens it has on it.

if you are really concerned about the video quality, then i would suggest getting a camcorder thats primary purpose is to shoot high quality videos without compromising for frame rate quality.

ideal was to test.
and i wouldn't think cash would not be a problem at all.
yes lens are the big keys. i want to test it myself on video.
camcorders I don't like at all. and friend has a few, and i am not amazed.
simple enough if i am no amazed with either one. i'll give it
to my little brother but I am sure i'll have it with me for a long time
and besides. i co-own a club at school that requires photography.
