Sooo this was the first time I had taken my camera out into -20 degree Celsius weather, it helped me a lot to reread a couple of the forums here regarding some cold weather tips.
I had sealed up all my gear in individual ziplock bags just in case. The battery lasted for about 2-3 hours or 70 actuations before crapping out. The one thing i regret about not doing is purchasing a spare battery to bring up there.
The camera's gears were functioning excellently, however i did notice a slower response from the electronics (slower focusing time, took longer to record to SD card).
Shot with a 18-70mm f/3.5-4.5 on nikon d80

So beautiful, it was worth it to freeze in the cold and do all the preparation needed!
One can feel the temperatures being transported to the viewer through this great shot!
The sky looks so clear and the gradient from blue to the white is simply astonishing.
Gorgeous outlook, the trees covered in snow make the deep look into the horizon even more enjoyable.
