I just got a Nikon D5000 for christmas and im just getting into photography now and i was wondering if you guys could give me some tips and pointers on what i should be focusing on.
neat tricks for sick pictures are also welcome :]

Welcome SLZ. :)

Look at what others do, and do it yourself. Then make your own style. :)
There is literally a whole world waiting for you. Get used to the functions and read about your camera.

If you want specific help, post here again. :)

sometimes i read mine when i need to know something or just feeling like learning.

you know the tips about shooting in the cold that black posted?
most of it was in my manual. :O

I didn't think it really mattered how I shoot in the cold, just have to make sure you let the camera warm slowly as to not cause condensation. Or sit it by the dehumidifier when I bring it in.

what is a dehumidifier? :huh:

im afraid to shoot in the cold. >.<

i hope my lens doesnt get damaged while its being shipped...

It draws the moisture out of the air, and anything that you sit by it. We have one down stairs so we don't get mold problems..

so thats what that thing is!

so if you put your camera beside it, it will be okay?

do you think if you bought a lens online it would be okay while its being shipped in winter?
i dont know how sigma packages their lenses, and ive never bought a lens in the winter. >.<
