im giving in a going to start shooting RAW. :D

the only reason for me not shotting in RAW before was because it seemed to much work/time but thats only a small part of it, the main reason is because our computer is so old like 6 years old and it takes forever to do anything especially with the huge resolution of photos it can take ages, it can take up to 5 minutes just to open up photoshop. :(
but i guess i should just deal with it if i want to get better. ^_^

if anyone has any advice or examples of before/after feel free to post!
and how much you usually spend on a photo.

I haven't shot a jpeg in probably 4 years. RAW has a larger gamut range, colour space and it doesn't sharpen your image.

What exactly do you want to know about RAW?

Typically I'd spend 10 minutes on basic retouching. Then probably 20-30 minutes on a make over, if it's a portrait. The longest I've spent retouching an image was 12 hours (off and on)

well i already feel like i have an idea, so its one of those things you havent ventured into but youve thought it in your mind and know how to do it, so as to say youve had experience but only in your mind haha.
and it wasnt really as to what i want to know, its more of what, if anything, would you want to tell me. :P

ive already scanned through his guide, well just scrolled through it,
i think it might be more helpful once i have some raw photos to work with and if i get lost i can refer to him.

and to be honest it looks like normal touch-up anyways, except in raw, and features that i have but dont use. XD

wat.

Raw is only useful for basic colour correction and histogram alterations. The rest is what Photoshop is for.

In terms of colour correction, unless your monitor is calibrated/profiled, then the task is useless. Have you had your monitor calibrated?
