Since it was brought up in another thread, during my Christmas shopping, I stopped in a mall photo store to inquire about printing on canvas..
There s no way, in that store, to buy my own and have it printed, cause they say it comes in big rolls and blah blah blah..
The starting price, on top of the actual printing, was 50$ + ... WHAT?????

I didn't ask in bigger photo stores, as I wanted more info from you guys before looking like a noob

Can someone who has a canvas printed photo, take a picture of it or scan it or whatever to show me what it looks like?
They didn't have any at the store I went to..

What kind of pictures are best for this?

Again thank you in advance

Canvas is really expensive, $50 is cheap too.
I know here when I've done 13 x 19 Canvas it's over $100.

I'm pretty sure the quality is exactly the same as paper would be. My grand parents have a 40x50 print of a photo and I didn't even realize it was canvas til I walked up close to it.

As far as what kind of picture, what do you mean? If you're talking about size, then depending on how big you want the picture to be depends on what kind. My SLR is 10.2 MP and I got a 20x30 print with great quality, I would assume the same would go for canvas as well.

Yep, canvas is fairly expensive. I couldn't believe it either. Printing a 16 x 20 photo just normally costs 30 dollars, while printing that same size in a canvas was 100 dollars! That's 70 dollars more :O I was like "no way in hell that's happening!"

Any kind of photo, nature, people, landscape... any! When I saw one in the store here I believe it was a nature photo. :)

For the finish..
So far when printing on regular paper, I can choose between gloss or mat...
But considering the price, I'd have to have an exceptional photograph to do it on canvas, but was wondering if portrait, landscape or what kind would be best...
