He is also wondering a Nikon camera very similar to this Canon model; but I don't know what that would be. I am very curious myself.

Getting a Nikon pretty much the same as the Canon XSI - which to go with? Which is more expensive?

well Nikon has one camera which is very similar to XSI it's the D3000 and I think it's in the same price range as Rebel XSI as well.
