I love taking these kinds of pictures. They are interesting... and really, who gets the chance to take a car accident photo? I know I don't, at least not very often. This is my first car accident shot; normally I don't have my camera with me while driving, but this time my camera was ready to go, and I was sitting at a red light waiting to go, and saw this car accident ahead of me. Quickly grabbed my camera and shot as many as I could.

I wish I wouldn't have gone through and just waited another red light to get an even closer shot, but I screwed that one up. So here's a shot for ya. I thought it was kinda interesting.

Feel free to post your similar photos like these, such as fires etc!

Wished I would have gotten more !

Most likely the car to the left kept a too short distance to the car in the middle.
A result of stupid driving :)

I see your points btw :P
I'd also like to get a nice crash shot :P

sigh I have only seen one car accident here so far and that was when I was busy working :(

@Mew
It doesn't look like a serious accident so I dont see why you find it inappropriate. It's kinda like watching plane crashes you feel sorry for the victims but at the same time finding the footage interesting

doesnt mean its okay.

i dont, you might, its a lot different when you are the victim.
and you dont know if it was serious or not, you werent a part of the accident, you werent in the crash.
vehicles cost money also, they dont just fall from the sky.
and maybe the people got lucky and their life was one step from ending, you never know that.

so no i dont think it is cool, and i dont think i would love to take photos of misfortune and tragic accidents of others, thats what paparazzi do, and you only see from the outside view.

but sorry for invading your thread, i just hate photos like this, even if people think they are interesting, think about if you were in their place.

one of my relatives was just in an accident when it was raining really bad and a truck hit them head on, i would be so angry if people were taking photos like they were some lab experiment and thinking of oh how cool this accident is, look at the damage, where is your heart?

again sorry to bug you but this is how i feel and i dont want to get into an argument with anyone or get this thread locked, it just bugs me a lot for people to just say that so freely....

I am definitely not saying I am proud of any kind of accident... that was not my intent in this post.

That's ok to hate photos like this; you never had to post!

One of my relatives was in a car accident as well; His family and friends took photos of the after math, with the car, and him in the hospital; it's a fact of life, it happens. I am not proud of taking photos like these. If there was a fire, hell, I'd be taking photos of that too. People die all the time from accidents, what does it matter if you see the pics on the news or online? I don't think their intent was to show that they have no heart, and how cool it looks, and how damaged it all is. There's thousands of photos like this. Sure maybe their intent was to take photos because it was "cool" or look at all that damage! But it was definitely not mine. No I won't argue with you, it's discussion, and we can be mature about how we both agree on things or not :)

I honestly cannot explain why I like to take these kinds of photos, or why I did. I get a rise from it I guess. I would be one of those people that takes photos at war, the good and the bad photos. I'd show you the reality that happens out there by taking photos of it. And I am sure a lot would be offended by it. But it's reality, it's not something that's made up, I can't change it.

I would call it a dark side photo, it shows a little bit of my dark side. Check out this forum here for other examples.

sorry i got carried away, i just read the comments and reacted on it. :(
i always get so emotional over things that i shouldnt so much.
its probably from all the stress.

but i still do believe in what i said it was just my thought on things like this, thanks for understanding.

i love photography for its beauty/creativity and artistic ways.
i hate the reality of things, and some people even turn them bad.

like how a photo taken at a certain moment has a lot of hidden truth and people just believe what they see from it, thats why i had the media, they like to twist and turn things around and people will believe it or trust in it completely and spread false information.
