Nice, but I just don't like the shadow done by the flash... :(

The first pic has a wrong angle, unless you were trying to shoot your nostrils. The second pic is much better but the flash is obviously on camera which makes it very hard and blah. If you don't have an OCF you can use something like this: http://www.lumiquest.com/products/softscreen.htm

And if you don't want to purchase something like that then you might be able to rig something up with a piece of thin cloth from the second hand store or something else that diffuses light and has a larger surface (the larger the more soft).

Agree to the angle, but nice shot either way!

And i have a tie that looks very similar to yours in the first picture.

Thanks, realy useful :)

Well, I WAS aiming for a special angle on the first one, and in some way, I kind of like it.

Nice ties
Maybe you could use a spotlight / regular room lightning / lightning from outside to get the lightning from other directions, I guess it's not impossible to build a bouncer or something for your built-in flash either :P

They are alright.

Personally, I find the lighting very harsh, which adds reflection from oils and such on the skin (Mainly forehead) And the harsh shadows.
