There is a photo competition coming up which i am entering this photo as 'the unwelcome guest' jess the dog being unwelcome to the rabbid!

Please give as much feedback as possible even if you dont consider yourself a pro photographer: if the colours look off to you, sharpness, anything!!!

I like the idea, alot.
But the focus seems off, shouldn't be on the fence imo :)
I don't know how it would have worked out, if the focus where on the rabbit, or the dog. Would might have looked weird.

placing the dog on frame is really on the spot, and so is dof on the dog. However dof on rabbit isnt even near on the spot, you could have achieved the same dof on dog and rabbit more in focus by focusing on the rabbit and using larger f-number. Getting this kind of dof right on the spot is really hard, best way would have been to focus somewhere between the fence and rabbit and using larger area in focus, so that the fence and the rabbit gets on focused area. Rabbits ears get behind the fence a little and it looks bit disturbing. That pole on the fence is just in the right spot and so is the rabbit compared to fence. Pole is in the thirds of the frame and the rabbit is nicely on the thirds on the thirds of the pole.

All of this is really hard to achieve perfectly and you most likely wouldnt have had time to find the right f-number and focusing spot. Compared on how hard this kind of shot is to take, this is pretty well done. What comes to colors, some adjusting would have helped alot, but they dont seem off.

I'd have liked it a great deal more if the DoF was reduced a lot and the focus was purely on the rabbit, with the rabbit occupying the rule of thirds area more. Both shots also look really quite noisy unfortunately.

I think the shot would look much better in black and white.

yeah it was pretty dark when i did this, the camera makes it look a lot brighter than what it was

I think it would look better with the focus mainly on the rabbit as well. The idea is very interesting though.
