I'm looking to buy a new camera. I'm currently using a Cannon G5.
I've got about $400-600 to work with. I've been looking at Nikon D40 and I think I like it.
Suggestions / Comments?

Seems like this discussion comes up at least once a week. It seems to me that last week we decided that finding a used d70 would be a much better option than a d40. Or another brand's equivalent.

Yeah, I know I've seen this topic a few times before. Do know the price range for a new/used d70?

used canon 450d with 18-55 is kit lens and new 50mm 1.8 lens imo

Used d70s, maybe even a used d50.

D40 is missing many features imo (i own one)
