I'm looking to spend around $1000 and I would really like something with video.
I've watched videos on youtube of the T1i's video feature b ut I haven't found any pictures taken with it.
Any experience with this camera?

dslr=dslr=dslr

It'll take pictures fine.

If you're not pixel peeping you won't even notice the difference between most cameras. (Better glass is a better investment)

There is different kind of dslrs, they can be quite different from each other.

Here is pictures with the camera:

What comes to shooting video with dslr, if your looking for a camera that you film when your out drinking with your friends or stuff like that, dslr isnt the right tool for that. If your looking for camera that you film short clips on tripod and put them together on computer aka serious movie making, then dslr is the right tool. Allso when shooting video with this camera old manual lenses where you can set the aperature from the lens is recommended, since you cant change it with regular lenses while shooting.

Its good beginner camera, but you could get better one for the price without video. Maybe even get better camera without video + point and shoot that can take video for the same price. You should really find out if shooting video with dslr is what you want to do, its not what most people think it is. You can shoot it like eny other camera that can take video, but good tool isnt good if your not using it right.

I'm using the T1i, all of these pictures were taken with it:

It's very nice to begin with, just learn how to use it and it will do good.

Videos are nice too, if you stop at 720p. It also shoots at 1080p but with only 20 fps and it sucks :)
