My daughter found it on a pile of wood, and played with it a little, but she was nice enough to let me do a shooting session with the friendly spider.
Name of the spider: Daisy.
I am EXTREMELY lucky, my daughter let it go free afterwards...
Usually bugs that become pets end up in the house...
Like the friendly snail (I don't remember the name of that one..)... now sleeping in her bedroom.....

Thank you all for your nice comments :)
That is a Garden Spider, they are very common in my area.
I don't have the latin name off hands, but I can research it tomorrow :)
That specimen was about 2 inches long, and when I was showing it to my mom ( had my mom over today) that thing crawled up my arm and I needed someone to get it back on the log, cause I was holding the log in one hand, and the camera with the other hand..
I don't mind a big spider on me, as long as it doesn't go inside my sleeves where it cannot be seen......
These spiders are totally harmless :)
And they have beautiful colors

Thats a beautiful picture , I guess its a Argiope aurantia? ( Yellow Garden Orb Weaver )

Its Amazing to see every time how many different species are living around you and you share them with us then.
There is hardly anything here, just some bumble bees attacking me now and then :evillol:

probably not a good idea to let your daughter play with a spider with yellow markings on its back
but nice shot
