Just fresh out of the camera...
Plus a little GIMP'ed saturation added...

Does it matter that it's in the center?
Should I crop it?
My focus point s a little lower left, not dead center, but the full grasshopper is in the middle...
How do you apply the rule of third here?

Thanks in advance for your comments!!

what the viewers eyes are drawn to isnt the center of the photo. This photo is beautifuly composed. The head is what draws your attention. The leg on the right as well. The lines created are great. One of the best shots youve posted imho. Keep it up.

Grasshoppers are my favortie fly when flyfishing. Nothing gets a trout more excited then a juicy grasshopper squirming in the surface film of the river.

Wow impressive and rare picture, never saw a grasshopper like that before! :D

You got a special sense to find and especially even well capture animals or nature in general in such special situations. Thats a gift.
I dont know about the focus rules, but the head is whats drawing my attention directly and it looks very clear to me.

Great photo.

Remember, the rule of thirds doesn't have to apply to every shot, while it's important in the composition of some photographs, knowing when to break the rule can create some incredible shots.
