Ok - well, it's hard to see, but I notice a difference in colors here! One being viewed in photoshop, and the other being viewed with Windows picture and Fax viewer. I see different colors in them?

Is this something I should fix? Or not worry about? Makes me wonder if you see my photos and they are ... different than what I see them as.

hmm it looks like the one in photoshop is a RAW file and with shadow details boosted or whatever which looks awesome compared to the one in the windows viewer thingy which probably displayed a jpg version. So I don't think there is anything you have to worry about it's just two different file formats :)
btw I am thinking about start shooting in RAW as well since I already got CS2 installed hehe

edit: so you have solved the CS3 crashing problem?? :o

Yeah, it might be showing you a .jpg version of it...which would look like that. Try saving it in .tif and see what happens

I think they use different colorprofiles for each file.

Picutre on the right looks so much better, there is a big visible difference!
I wish I could understand what 'RAW' is...

Yeah - It definitely looks better doesn't it lol. I don't fully understand RAW. All I know is that you can edit EVERYTHING. I can change the exposure on it (if it's too dark, I can make it right), I can change the colors on it to make it look more warm or dark. It's actually quite fun :) I don't think I can get away from shooting RAW now... every single picture is RAW on my camera now. But it only allows me to take around 90 photos on my 2 GB memory card

I guess so? Lol. I didn't do anything to solve it. I still use CS2 mostly. I use CS3 for raw files.

Hmm - yeah, maybe that's it. Because I shot the photo in Jpeg + Raw. So it saved two files instead of one on my camera. Didn't realize that the colors were different.

Well if you ever go to Regina in the next week or two you may want to go to Don's course they are having a sale on some of the Sandisk CF cards :) You could grab a 8GB Extreme III for 80 bucks.

lol - If you don't mind learning more about RAW and jpeg you really should check out this one: http://photo.net/learn/raw/

hmm so you are using both CS2 and 3??? :O What's the difference? Can't CS2 handle RAW as well? Well I don't think I will be able to run CS3 and some other programs at the same time on my crappy computer especially when it comes to editing RAW files. It will probably lag lol.

CS2 doesn't have all the options to edit your RAW photo. CS3 has WAAAAAAAY more options. The options I'm talking about are the ones in the picture up there... CS2 doesn't have near as many.

It shouldn't lag... why don't you try it.

Alrighty! I guess I will have to install and see what will happen lol. My p.o.s. computer does lag sometimes when I open files in CS2 while having a few other programs running at the same time -.- I think the only solution would be either get a better video card or a whole new computer lol.
