I really like the first one because you see the whole coin. You used your homemade lens?

But the edges of the photo are unsharp.

(Or is it just dof?)

Yea, I'm using my homemade one, and the edges of the photo is like that because when I'm zoomed out to 18mm with my 18-75mm lens you can see the inside of the homemade lens as a black ring and everything except the middle is focused. That's why I usually have it zoomed into at least 50mm.
